Many MVKS friends and students gathered on the night of July
22 to
show their appreciation to all the teachers who make the MVKS Studio so special.
Mr. Peacock pointed out that the school could not exist without all the contributions
and the support of the MVKS SWAT team.
When MVKS started in 1991, there were 16 students
taking classes. Today there are 19 teachers, helping over 100 active
students to learn the art of Kenpo.
Mr. Peacock also highlighted the tremendous growth of the
individual SWAT teachers, some of them stepping up and taking their roles in the
new satellite programs in New Boston and Milford, the Tiny Tigers program, or
the specialty programs like the Women's Self-Defense Clinics. Others will take
on additional responsibilities to advance their professional careers. What a
team!
As a surprise for Mr. Peacock, this year's new Black Belts
awarded him with a framed Kenpo plaque, signed by all new Black Belts. There is
simply no teacher like Mr. Peacock!
