New Black Belt Candidates

Please join me in congratulating Anna Ballard, Alex Girard, Eric Kolb, and Tim and Cecelia Nichols for passing their Black Belt pre test last month and earning their Black Belt Candidates’ ranks! These students have now entered into a 3 month testing process in which they will take monthly exams on segments of the Kenpo system, culminating, hopefully, with their promotion to Black Belt!

Rank Specific Monthly Specials: Beginner Kids Buddy Week and Movie Day

We held the second of our rank specific specials last month with a beginner kids buddy week and movie event. Thanks to all of you who brought in a friend to our school. The classes were high energy and fun, for both our members and their friends. Beginners, your next special monthly event will be held in June. I am open to any suggestions for this event, but as it stands, we will try to have a bowling day.

Student Surveys - Change Is In The Air!

We sent out surveys last month in an effort to improve ourselves, and the responses were overwhelming. I appreciate the time you all took to fill them out, and as a result, some positive changes are on the way. We will now offer a choice to you as to whether you would like to receive your rank on Friday night of week 5, or at the end of your class. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board. We will now have an instructor available after classes in the back room for extra help. I am going to ask the Mont Vernon Selectmen what we can do to improve our parking situation ( maybe expand? ). Our staff will continue to develop and improve their skills as teachers, and we are possibly changing our schedule. Inserted in this months newsletter is a voting sheet with 3 schedule choices to choose from (Online in Student Center). Two of them have increased class time. Please take the time to vote. The new schedule will go into effect April 16^th. Voting deadline is March 22^nd.

This Month: Intermediate Kids Buddy / Family Week and Movie Day!

This months rank specific special will be for the intermediate kids ( Purple, Blue, and Green Belts) in our school. All intermediate kids may bring a friend or family member to class for free all week during the week of March 19^th through the 24th. We will end the week with a movie day event on Saturday the 24^th at 12:30. Snacks and drinks will be provided, please sign up so that we can have enough. We will be taking a vote on the movie on the 24^th.
