On Saturday, May 20^th, Mont Vernon celebrated Spring with it’s annual Spring Gala celebration. MVKS was there, with its students marching in the parade and tossing out candy. For many kids, it was their first time marching in a parade, and I never get tired of seeing their excited faces as the crowd cheers them on while they march by. Instead of a Karate demonstration, this year we held a break-a-thon fundraiser to help pay for the McCollom Field to be renovated. We raised a total of $858.00 for this worthy cause, and thanks to Mrs. Peacock, her company, Saint Gobain Industrial Ceramics from Milford, will match this donation dollar for dollar, making the grand total over $1700.00!! For all the support the town of Mont Vernon has given us over the years, it sure feels good to be able to give back to the community. Thanks to all who supported this event, you all came through big time!!

All the fun began June 3^rd, 1991. Join us Friday, June 23^rd for a pot luck dinner to celebrate. We will also be celebrating our awesome teaching staff!! Look for the upcoming flyer.

10 Lucky MVKS students will be attending our 2^nd annual summer Karate Camp. A friendly     reminder that all participants must have their waivers signed and balance paid by June 23^rd.

If you missed out on the last order, there is a new order form on the bulletin board for MVKS t-shirts. This will be the last order of the year.

The school will be closed for the first of its two weeks off this summer from July 1^st until July 8^th, with classes resuming July 10^th. This means that there will be a four week cycle instead of five leading up to the break. Classes will be tailored accordingly to help ensure success . This will also occur during the month of July, with our second break starting August 5^th, and going until August 12^th, with classes resuming August 14^th. If you also are vacationing this summer, and your vacations don’t coincide with ours, come see me for some suggestions to help keep you on track. We can find a way to make it work for you so that your vacations don’t get in the way of your progress.
