Technique of the Month - September 2007

Intellectual Departure
(right step-through front kick)

  1. From a natural stance, step back with your left foot to 6:00 into a reverse cat stance while executing a right inside downward block, followed by a right back kick to the groin.
  2. Pivot into a right neutral bow.
  3. Do a right drag step side kick to the knee.
 

Beginner Student Questions

  1. Why is move #2 necessary?
  2. Which knee do you kick on move #3 and why?

  1. What other Yellow Belt technique uses the same lines (or moves) with the right side?
