SWAT - What? You have seen many other teachers assist Mr. Peacock in classes. And you may have heard that those assistant teachers are members of the "SWAT Team". However, have you ever wondered how students become assistant teachers, and what it means to be a member of the SWAT Team? Well, read on. Students have to meet minimum age and rank requirements, must have a good knowledge of the forms and techniques, and must regularly attend their own classes to be considered becoming an assistant teacher. SWAT members help during one or more classes a week. They are also available before and after classes to help and answer questions from students and parents. Once every cycle Mr. Peacock asks all SWAT members to attend a teach-the-teacher meeting. This is an opportunity to discuss teaching issues, learn about teaching forms and techniques, and practice.
Interested in becoming a SWAT member? Contact Mr. Peacock to discuss if you qualify. |
